BANGLADESH-WHERE TO GO,WHEN TO GO

BANGLADESH-WHERE TO GO

All about Bangladesh travelings:

Rich culture, beautiful tourist spots, and hospitable people. These are the qualities that all great tourist spots have. And, incidentally, these are also the very qualities that you will find in the beautiful country of Bangladesh.

1.) Catch a glimpse of the Tigers

Tigers, specifically the Royal Bengal Tigers, are magnificent creatures, with their proud and noble bearings and beautifully patterned coats. Watching these tigers gives us a sense of excitement and danger all rolled into one. It's too bad that they're endangered, but still, in Bangladesh, you can see these beautiful creatures by visiting the Sunderbans National Park.

2.) Fun in the Sun and Sand

If you're looking for beautiful blue beaches to sunbathe, to swim, or to simply walk around in, then you must go to Bangladesh's Kuakata. Kuakata is a beach resort that has been recently developed. It is located in the southern part of Bangladesh, but the sea isn't the only thing this place offers though, because in Kuakata, you can also observe the culture of the Rakhane Tribe.

3.) World's Longest and Broadest Beach

If any old beach just doesn't cut it, why don't you try going to Inani beach found in the South of Bangladesh. It is the world's longest and broadest beach and is found in Cox's Bazar. Inani Beach, however, is not as developed as the other beaches such as Patenga, so if you want all the tourist perks, then it's probably best if you just go to Patenga.

4.) Cleanse your Soul with Some Tea

People who don't like the strong taste of coffee usually prefer the much smoother and cleaner taste of tea. So, if you're a tea fan, you certainly can't miss going to Sylhet, located just North of Dhaka. Sylhet is known for its tea-growing traditions, and Srimongol, a place in Sylhet, is the center of the tea gardens in Sylhet.

5.) Go Bird Watching

If you want to see a sample of Bangladesh's exotic wildlife, why not go to Hakaluki and Tanguar haor, near about Sylhet northern-eastern part of Bangladesh. These haor distance from Dhaka 280 km. You can watch many colors and types of birds there. But Rajendrapur National Park is another option near to DHaka, located just 31 miles north of the capital city. Bring your binoculars with you, maybe even your camera and take a few snapshots of the beautifully colored birds residing in the area.

6) Take a walk in the Zoo

Unfortunately, being constantly on the move to look for various animals can be slightly tiring. And there's always the chance that you'll get disappointed at the end of the day because of the poor turnout.

7) The City of Mosques

If you're coming to Bangladesh, you absolutely can't miss coming to Dhaka, the city of Mosques. The wonderful architecture and designs are to die for. Visit Baitul Mukkaram Mosque, the Star Mosque, and the Chawkbazar Mosque, and you'll be sure to gape in awe at the magnificent designs.

8) St. Martin ISLAND

St. Martin is the most beautiful and demandable tourist destination island in Bangladesh. It's a very small island, totally 08 sp km and appx. 15 km long. It's the only coral island of Bangladesh. Totaly white sandy beach, deep blue water, count less cocunat tree, dry fresh prosses center and lots of attaractions are awiting to receive you. It's is eastern-southern part of Bangladesh and last last land of Bangladesh in southern side. It is 530 kilometres from Dhaka. Anyone can go to there by a/c non a/c bus from Dhaka to Teknaf(10hours journey). Then Teknaf to St.Martin by Vassal (02hours journey). Blue Marine, Prince Heaven, Prasad Paradise and Abakash Parjaton are the good quality hotel in St. Martin. Their rental range is Tk. 800-1500(equ $12-22). Economy rooms are also available between Tk.200-500 (equ. $3-8)

Enjoy the journey

Take care and always welcome to Bangladesh

BANGLADESH TRVEL GUIDE

PART ONE_BASIC FACTS

Bangladesh officially the People's Republic of Bangladesh is a country in South Asia. It is bordered by India on all sides except for a small border with Burma to the far southeast and by the Bay of Bengal to the south. Together with the Indian state of West Bengal, it makes up the ethno-linguistic region of Bengal. The name Bangladesh means "Country of Bengal" in the official Bengali language.

GEOGRAPHY
Bangladesh is among the most densely populated countries in the world and has a high poverty rate. Geographically the country straddles the fertile Ganges-Brahmaputra Delta and is subject to annual monsoon floods and cyclones. The government is a parliamentary democracy; however, political rule has been suspended under emergency law since January 11, 2007. Bangladesh is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, SAARC, BIMSTEC, the OIC, and the D-8. As the World Bank notes in its July 2005 Country Brief, the country has made significant progress in human development in the areas of literacy, gender parity in schooling and reduction of population growth.

Geography and climate

Bangladesh is located in the low-lying Ganges-Brahmaputra River Delta or Ganges Delta. This delta is formed by the confluence of the Ganges (local name Padma or Pôdda), Brahmaputra (Jamuna or Jomuna), and Meghna rivers and their respective tributaries. The Ganges unites with the Jamuna (main channel of the Brahmaputra) and later joins the Meghna to eventually empty into the Bay of Bengal. The alluvial soil deposited by these rivers has created some of the most fertile plains in the world. Bangladesh has 58 trans-boundary rivers, making water issues politically complicated to resolve - in most cases as the lower riparian state to India. Most parts of Bangladesh are less than 12 metres (39 ft) above the sea level, and it is believed that about 50% of the land would be flooded if the sea level were to rise by a metre (3 ft)

Straddling the Tropic of Cancer, Bangladeshi climate is tropical with a mild winter from October to March, a hot, humid summer from March to June. A warm and humid monsoon season lasts from June to October and supplies most of the country's rainfall. Natural calamities, such as floods, tropical cyclones, tornadoes, and tidal bores occur almost every year, combined with the effects of deforestation, soil degradation and erosion. Cox's Bazar, south of the city of Chittagong, has a beach that stretches uninterrupted over 120 kilometres (75 mi).

Religion

The major religion practiced in Bangladesh is Islam (89.7%) and a sizable minority adheres to Hinduism (9.2%).[65] About 96% of the Muslims are Sunni while over 3% are Shi'a and remainders are Ahmadis. Ethnic Biharis are predominantly Shia Muslims. Other religious groups include Buddhists (0.7%, mostly Theravada), Christians (0.3%, mostly of the Roman Catholic denomination), and Animists (0.1%). Among Muslim-majority countries, Bangladesh ranks fourth after Indonesia, Pakistan and India by the number of Muslims, with over 130 million. Islam is the state religion of Bangladesh, but other religion may also be practiced in harmony. Religion practiced in the region, is fairly moderate in terms of Islam in politics and fairly high in family matters mainly concerned with marriage etc.

Culture

Intricate design in a Nakshikatha, a traditional stitched quilt.
The culinary tradition of Bangladesh has close relations to Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine as well as having many unique traits. Rice and curry are traditional favourites. Bangladeshis make distinctive sweetmeats from milk products; some common ones are Rôshogolla, Chômchôm and Kalojam.

The sari (shaŗi) is by far the most widely worn dress by Bangladeshi women. However, the salwar kameez (shaloar kamiz) is also quite popular, and in urban areas some women wear Western attire. Among men, European dressing has greater acceptance. Men also use the kurta-paejama combination, often on religious occasions. The lungi, a kind of long skirt, is widely worn by Bangladeshi men

The two Eids, Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Adha are the largest festivals in the Islamic calendar. The day before Eid ul-Fitr is called Chãd Rat (the night of the Moon), and is often marked by firecrackers. Other Muslim holidays are also observed. Major Hindu festivals are Durga Puja and Saraswati Puja. Buddha Purnima, which marks the birth of Gautama Buddha, is one of the most important Buddhist festivals while Christmas, called Bôŗodin (Great day) in Bangla is celebrated by the minority Christian population. The most important secular festival is Pohela Baishakh or Bengali New Year, the beginning of the Bengali calendar. Other festivities include Nobanno, Poush parbon (festival ofPoush) and observance of national days like Shohid Dibosh.
